Sometimes brothers are estranged
for the strangest of things,
unnoted or unspoken stings,
unopened strings,
uncertainties,
emergencies,
slow spoken urgencies,
or cuts unsutured from unseen surgeries.
Cut off, pushed out to seas
where storms rage for years of daze,
the winds hit the embers and extend the blaze,
not learning until after the fact of numerous loved ones long in their graves,
no chance for that last touch, voiced love, or hug goodbye,
no funeral vigils and not even knowledge of where they were buried to visit for mourning time,
each family member holds genetic rights,
such things denied,
amongst others,
amongst brothers,
in the wilds of time
where memory goes to die
when the signs arrive
and we find that we return to the moments
when we’d seek to find and hit send to speak our minds.
